Today was mostly sunny with a light southwest breeze in the morning that calmed by afternoon, perfect for both tours. In the morning, near the Green buoy close to Hjalteyri, we enjoyed two friendly humpback whales that delighted everyone onboard. Later, we traveled near Grenivík, where three humpbacks awaited us, including our well-known friends Dissy and the legendary Bob, who was truly spectacular. A wonderful day at sea—let’s see what tomorrow brings!

We started the day with calm seas and a gentle southern breeze, later growing stronger, creating perfect conditions to head out in search of whales. This morning’s trip took us farther than usual, but it was worth it, we encountered six Humpback whales near Hrisey’s east coast. They delighted us with frequent tail displays, familiar individuals like Dissy, Bob, Piccolo, and their Eyjafjörður companions. Sadly, strengthening winds forced us to cancel the afternoon tours.

Today began with bright sunshine and a light southerly breeze, leaving the sea calm and perfect for whale watching in our fjord. We got to see a lot of whales, check it out here!

This very windy, yet warm, day didn’t disappoint us. All around the fjord it must have been at least nine humpback whales scattered. Busy feeding, potentially getting ready for the long migration route.

Today was perfect for whale watching, calm seas, no wind or rain, and only a few clouds drifting across the sun. In the morning at Hjalteyri, we first spotted a blow, then several more. Soon, four to six Humpback whales appeared, busy feeding, surfacing regularly, and lifting their tails before deep dives. The afternoon brought the same incredible activity, with whales delighting us again and again. An unforgettable day filled with breathtaking moments from start to finish!

Another crisp, sunny day in Eyjafjörður made for perfect whale watching. On the morning tour, we sailed far to find whales but were rewarded with four humpbacks north of Hjalteryi, busy feeding. Two stuck close together, surfacing and diving in sync, while the others eventually joined. In the afternoon, we returned to find even more activity, at least six humpbacks feeding, with additional blows spotted further out, proving the fjord was full of life.

The mountains were covered in their second day of snow, giving us a cold, crisp day. The morning brought some sunshine, but clouds and rain soon followed. Humpback whales were far out in the fjord, and north of Hjalteryi we found a very active one that surfaced close to our boat. Further north near Grenivik, another whale fed calmly at the surface. In the afternoon we met Bob, a familiar whale, always showing its tail.
