Today’s whale watching tour offered excellent sightings in calm conditions. The morning began with sunshine and light seas before transitioning to cloudy skies in the afternoon.

In Hjalteyri, three humpback whales were observed, all of which displayed their tail flukes. A fourth humpback was later sighted in Raudavík, also showing its tail before diving. Additionally, a minke whale was encountered near the buoy. Furthermore, we saw a few Harbour Porpoises around the boat.

All whales observed during the tour were calm, providing a relaxed and memorable viewing experience for everyone on board.

During the afternoon, we saw the same whales we had seen in the morning, and even more! During the afternoon tour, the whales had moved. However, we had our first encounter S Hjalteyri, and the rest N of Hjalteyri and this time we saw up to 5 Humpback whales. In addition to a sneaky Minke whale who surprised us around the green buoy on our way back to Akureyri.
