Another crispy, cold and sunny day in Eyjafjörður and it was a perfect day for whale watching.

On the morning tour we had to sail quite far out to find the whales, but we got rewarded when we found four Humpback whales north of Hjalteryi very busy feeding. Two of the humpbacks must have been pretty good friends because they stayed together the whole tour, coming up to the surface and going down at the same time. The other two humpbacks were keeping to themselves at first but eventually teamed up as well. Possibly it made their feeding more efficient.

In the afternoon we headed to the same area and it must have been a lot of food becuase now the original four humpbacks had been joined by even more whales, it was at least six humpbacks in the area and we could see even more blows for humpbacks further out.
