Another crisp, sunny day in Eyjafjörður made for perfect whale watching. Although today we didn’t see the sun, the waves were small and we were able to enjoy our whales, with much less rocky boats. On the morning tour, we sailed far to find whales but were rewarded with three humpbacks around Rauðavík, busy feeding. With additional blows spotted further out.

The southern wind increased quite dramatically during our afternoon tours, but not the waves. Close to Hjalteyri this afternoon, we got to see Piccolo , the Humpback whale, who gained this nickname due to how small it was the first time we saw it in 2020. However, it is now much larger, and it was providing us with some amazing fluke shots throughout the tour.
