Today, the strong winds brought us a bit of a rollercoaster tour. However, it was perfectly sunny when we exited Akureyri, and although some clouds briefly covered the sky, the sun kept shining. Today, the whales were a tad far, but with our boat Konsull, never far enough. We had 6 Humpback whales in the SE Hrísey area, one of them was not fluking, but the other five did. We also had a very close encounter with our lovely friend Piccolo, who came up just 5m from the boat. It was quite the sight, the whales surfing on the waves or breaking them with a big splash. Quite humbling, but amazing at the same time.

Due to even stronger winds, the rest of the tours have been cancelled for today.
