We began the day with calm seas and a light breeze from the south that get a bit stronger, perfect conditions to take the boat out in search of whales.
This morning we had to travel a bit farther than usual, but it was absolutely worth it, we encountered around six Humpback whales off the east coast of Hrisey. The whales put on a beautiful show, frequently lifting their tails. They were the same individuals we’ve been observing over the past few days: Dissy, Bob, Piccolo, and the rest of the Eyjafjörður gang.
Unfortunately, stronger winds later in the day forced us to cancel the afternoon tours.
