Hello everybody!

Another whale watching day under a fine rain today. But as always, the rain is not an inconvenience, and with a completely windless fjord, we headed out in search of cetaceans.

North of Hjalteyri, we were surprised by a humpback whale surfacing very close to our boat. Since we had information that there was a humpback whale in the area, we were navigating slowly. Thanks to that, the whale was able to swim calmly alongside us, allowing us to see part of its body beneath the water.

At some point, the whale disappeared, and we decided to keep sailing and try our luck somewhere else. In Rauðuvík, we managed to find another five humpback whales and one minke whale, While waiting for the whales to come back to the surface, which didn't take long, we spotted a small pod of harbour porpoises in the distance.

In the afternoon we saw two Humpback whales actiovely feeding South East of Hjlateyri. We were lucky with the weather since it was cloudy, we were excepting to be soaked but we barely had any rain.
