We had amazing sailing in the fjord today! Beautiful flat sea, no wind and sun came out!
In the morning tour, we spotted our 1st whale, a humpback whale just north east of green buoy. Watching this whale was amazing! It came few times just next to us and even raised its gigantic majestic tail right behind our boat! What a sight!
After that, we went to check out other 3 blows, closer to little town of Hjalteyri. There were 3 more humpback whales! All were diving deep dives, so displaying their beautiful flukes high above the sea surface!

We also spotted cute harbour porpoises, close to Hjalteyri, and, since the sea was so flat, we saw them really well!

During the afternoon tour, the sea was still beautifully calm, with no wind at all, perfect conditions!

The first humpback whale we spotted was west of Strytan. We had a really good view of her, and then… she started breaching several times. Although it’s not impossible to see this kind of behaviour, it’s certainly not something we get to witness very often, so everyone on board really enjoyed this special moment.

Later, after leaving this whale behind, we headed a little closer to the west coast, where we had spotted two blows in the distance. As we got closer, those two blows turned out to be two humpback whales! Once again, one of them suddenly surfaced very close to us before slowly moving away to finally said good bye going back for a deep dive.

Hopefully, tomorrow will bring us another day like today. See you soon!
