Good morning everyone!

Another day with the fjord covered in dense fog, but it rewarded us with a sea as calm as a lake.

In the morning tours, we found up to 4 humpback whales!

The first one, Morrigan, was south of the town of Hjalteyri, where we spent a lovely time watching her surface several times and raise her fluke every time she went for a dive.

Then, in the distance, we spotted three different blows, so we left the area and sailed towards these other humpies. There, we found Viper and two more humpback whales that were definitely filling up their bellies, as while we waited for them to come back to the surface, small schools of silvery fish were jumping out of the water.

In the afternoon, following the typical pattern, the fog and clouds vanished, revealing the mountains once again. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m obsessed with the autumn colours the fjord is getting!

So, we left the harbour hoping to find the whales we had seen in the morning, and there they were! This time, they were a bit more scattered, but they weren’t diving for very long, and once again, we were able to spot 4 different humpies.
