Today was a very calm day in the fjord - beautifully flat sea and no wind, with a bit of low clouds in the morning, creating a mystical & peaceful atmosphere. We saw a single harbour porpoise and a minke whale, on our tours. Minke whale was northeast of a hydrothermal chimney big Strytan. It was feeding, and was in a company of a lot of marine birds - common guillemots & Northern fulmars, as well as different species of gulls and few skuas. We were really enjoying observing this minke, wild and free (as they should be), hunting its prey. It surfaced up few times very close to our boat, showing us its beautifully elegant, hydrodynamic body and a cute snout. It was staying for a couple of breaths at the surface, so we all had enough time to see it very good!
