Today we sailed out in cloudy weather, but the fjord was like a mirror , calm, peaceful, and beautifully still.

As we got closer to Svalbarðseyri, we were lucky enough to find a minke whale. It was incredibly friendly and curious, popping up close to the boat several times and giving us some wonderful views.

At around 13:00, we were sailing south of Hrísey when we found our friendly humpback whale, Disy. She was also very relaxed and curious, surfacing close to the boat and then staying there for a while, almost as if she was simply hanging out and enjoying our company.

We had a beautiful look at her as she calmly surfaced right in front of us. And, as the perfect ending to this special encounter, she showed us her beautiful fluke before saying goodbye.

during the last tour of the day the waves were longer, so it got bumpier, but our Holmasol made it feel like no big deal. We sailed to Gljáin where we found our lovely Disy and her high fluke.

What a wonderful day on the fjord, filled with calm seas, curious whales, and unforgettable moments. 🐋💙
