Today we sailed out with a light southerly wind under cloudy skies. With the recent time change, the weather kept changing too we had a short rain shower before the sun broke through the clouds.

On our way out, we enjoyed watching several seabirds. We spotted Arctic terns, the world's greatest migrants, traveling an incredible 50,000 km every year. We also saw geese, puffins and eider ducks along the way.

As we reached the waters south of Hjalteyri, we noticed a few boats and soon spotted a blow. It turned out to be a humpback whale Proppy!

Proppy has distinctive scars behind the dorsal fin on the right side. Three years ago, we saw these wounds when they were still fresh, so it was wonderful to see this whale looking healthy again, with the injuries completely healed. Moments like these remind us of the resilience of these amazing animals.

On our afternoon tours, we were had the sunniest skies and light northerly winds, creating the perfect conditions out on the water. We were especially lucky in Rauðavík, where we encountered a very gentle humpback whale. The whale surfaced many times and seemed genuinely curious about boats: it approached us closely, swimming right alongside before taking a dive just a few meters away.

Now, let's see what the afternoon has in store for us!
