Good morning everyone.

The wind stayed with us today. Our first tour of the day was with our brave RIB boat passengers. Despite the challenging weather and rough seas, we managed to find a humpback whale near Rauðavík. Luckily, it surfaced several times close to the boat, giving everyone a great view. Everyone on board, except for one passenger, had never seen a whale before, making today's sighting especially memorable. It was a very special experience for both our guests and the crew, who are always happy to show these charismatic creatures and help people learn more about them.

Our morning Classic Whale Watching tours didn’t need to travel as far as Rauðavík. Instead, near Hjalteyri, we encountered another humpback whale. It was Vaquita J. Lo, who has been in the fjord with us for over a week now.

Unfortunately, our afternoon RIB tours had to be cancelled due to the weather. However, our larger boats were still able to operate the Classic Whale Watching tours safely. On the afternoon tour with 13:00 Classic we encountered similar challenging waves, but we got lucky! We got to witness 3 breaches of a humpback whale. The same humpback whale surfaced and showed us it’s fluke a couple of times and we enjoyed it.
On our tour at 17:00, despite all of our dedicated effort, we were out of luck and had no sighting of whales :( We did see lots of bird action and had a glimpse of a pod of harbor porpoises, but we offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come to another, more lucky, whale watching tour.
