Today the sun was lacking but the fjord was as flat as a mirror which gave us the best visibility. During our morning tours we saw a chickee Minke whale doing long dives yet getting very close tu us buy Hauganes. And to the NE end of Hrísey we found the most relaxed Humpback whale swimming gently among us. But just before it was time to turn around a cluster of fins started surfacing. Giving us the best tour end, with a group of White Beaked Dolphins.

In the afternoon the sun was coming out through the clouds, we travelled towards the island of Hrisey and there we spotted a Humpback whale, we were very lucky to see it quite close to our boat fluking! We were able to see also a lot of puffins at the water surface, but also arctic terns, fulmars, black guillemots flying around.

During the evening tour, we were fortunate to see two humpback whales. At first, they appeared separately north of Hrísey, but later they came together, almost as if they had become friends. Although humpback whales are generally solitary animals, they sometimes meet and spend time together.

Earlier in the tour, we encountered a group of northern bottlenose whales. We followed them for a few minutes before they made a deep dive. After several minutes, the entire group resurfaced, and we were able to watch the family swimming together, heading south.

On our way back to the harbour, we saw them again close to the southwestern side of Hrísey, giving us one final memorable sighting before the end of the tour.
