Tuesday 14th July

On one of our morning Classic tours, we first encountered a minke whale, south of green buoy. It was fast moving, hunting, and surfacing for only 1 breath, making it tricky to watch, but we are happy to had managed to see it very well! We heard from our colleagues there were more cetaceans in the fjord, so we continued sailing further north. At the South East of Hrísey - there it was. A majestic humpback whale. The one with the beautiful black fluke, that entered the fjord just few days ago. It was diving deep, for about 7 minutes, but was resting for a while at the surface afterwards. So we had enough time to see it super good!
Regarding weather conditions - we had it all today! Choppy, flat, wavy, windy and no wind, a bit of rain and sun!

After lunch Konsull took off on a wavy fjord and sailed all the way to Hrólfsker and north of it the found a chicky Minke whale and a pod of approximately 30 White Beaked Dolphins, having fun and swimming fast.

Our evening tours brought us a very interesting Minke whale who was spy hopping most of the time and we could see all its lower jaw very clearly. But not only that a little but further in Gláni we found 1 Humpback whale calmly swimming, and a lot of puffins!
