The morning started with a little rain and flat seas on our 9 o’ clock morning tour, we spotted our first minke whale at Gaseyri, it was feeding and moving around quite fast. We had the chance to see it quite close to the boat, after that we decided to explore more the fjord and in Arnarnesnafir we spotted two humpback whales lunge feeding at the surface! A lot of birds were also taking advantage of the fish brought to the surface by the humpbacks.
In the afternoon, the wind was still strong but nothing that could stop us from finding whales! We fouynd a Minke whale next to Hjalteyri, we then fiund a humpback south of Hauganes.
During our midnight tours, we had some very special Minke whale encounters, especially on the rib boat. There were 3 Minke Whales at Höfdi, and one of them literally swam 1 meter from our boat a few times and definitely checked us out. Later on all 3 Minkes swam together.
Furthermore, we saw one Humpback Whale in Raudavik, which was harder to track at the beginning, but we saw him very well and close during the end of our tours.
