Guten Tag,
Today’s weather was not nice. Cold and breezy. Iceland’s summer in a nutshell for ya. So we decided to sail to Tenerife instead. But on our way out, we quickly found 2 Humpback Whales feeding together just outside Svalbardseyri. So we thought we’d skip Tenerife and stay in the fjord. We watched those 2 whales for about an hour and continued further north, where we found a 3rd Humpback and also 2 Minke Whales south east of Hjalteyri. With the rib, we went a bit further North to Raudavik and we could see a Humpback whale moving towards the South before we went back to land.
During our 1300 tour, we saw 2 Humpbacks and one of them started breaching and mainly head slapping. Quality stuff that was. On our 17:00 tour, it was quite choppy and wavy sea but we found 4 humpback whales. They were quite chillin’, not showing their flukes, quite passive and coming to the surface for just 1-2 breaths. However, we did see quite few puffins and also razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes and Arctic terns.

At 21:00, we went out with the RIB again. We found two sleepy Humpbacks North of Svalbardseyri but they were not showing much. We then headed North to find a Minke and a Humpback North of Hjalteyri.
