It’s a cloudy day with a little breeze from the north. Sea conditions have been brilliant. We sent it out with 22 knots in the morning and came across not only one, not only two, not only three, not only four, not only five, not only six, not only seven BUT 8 Humpback Whales. Even two Minke Whales in the same area at Hauganes. Lots of the Humpbacks have been in small groups of four or three and surface regularly. Some of them look familiar but some brand new. So once Gisela is back, she will do the research and find out who those Whales are.
On the evening tours, we headed back to the same area where, although more scattered this time, we once again encountered humpback whales. They treated us to the spectacular acrobatics that make this species so famous: breaching, tail throwing, and powerful tail slaps. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end the day.
