The morning began with glass-like seas and cloudy skies, creating perfect conditions, our first sighting of the day was a minke whale just north of the village north of Svalbardseyri. After enjoying several close encounters with this elusive cetacean, we decided to continue our journey farther north. Near Hjalteyri, luck was on our side once again. We encountered not one, but two humpback whales, and one even showed one of its pectoral fins!

The afternoon classic was quite similar. We saw a Minke whale next to Svarbaldseyri, but it was moving quite fast and instead of chasing it, we decided to move North and found two Humpback whale next to Hjalteyri. They were actively feeding, coming up quite often. The rain started, but lucky for us, it was time to go back to land.
