The day in Akureyri started pretty cloudy, but the fjord was almost mirror-like with a slight breeze from the north. Everything was pretty calm with birds feeding all around in small flocs. To the South of Hjalteyri we found a sneaky Minke whale, who surfaced only a couple of times, hence we kept sailing north. By Hauganes we encountered Bob the Humpback whale, who never disappoints. Bob was feeding around the boats and showing off its fluke.
During the afternoon the sky cleared slightly so we could enjoy moments of sun, and even the wind died, so the fjord stayed almost flat. We sailed towards the north seeking our cetaceans and SE of Hrísey we found the the gold. there were 6-7 Humpback whales.
