Good day to everyone reading this blog! Today was a cloudy but warm day in Akureyri.
The morning and afternoon tours ended up being quite similar. We sailed out of the harbour toward the North after checking Heitifoss. Many birds have came back, and we start seeing them building nests around the waterfall.
We found our first Humpback whale North of Green Bouey. Shortly after it was join by Propi, a whale we know quite well.
We then found two more Humpback whales next to Hjalteyri. There was a bit of wind but we were able to enjoy each encounter with our dear captain keeping a comfortable distance with the cetacean and shutting down the engine so we will disturb as less as possible.
We saw two minke whales and harbour porpoise from far, but the spectacle from the Humpback stole the show.
Tours of the day: Classic - 0900 & 1300
