The wind has picked up and is coming in hot from the east. Which is possibly the best wind direction we could have in case of strong wind. Therefore sea conditions aren’t too bad.
After an hour of sailing a humpback whale popped up quite close to the boat, just north of Hjalteyri. It took a few breaths and shortly after went for a deep dive showing us the fluke. We stayed with this humpback for a few moments and all of a sudden we noticed it surfacing with another humpback whale! So we were so lucky to see two humpback whales. While waiting for humpback whales to resurface some harbour porpoises showed up leaving no time for boredom.
