Today we departed from a partly cloudy Akureyri. the wind was quite strong in the morning turning the fjord choppy. But that only gave us some splashes. Our first sighting was of 2 Humpback whales feeding N Svalbarðseyri. But that was not all To the West of Svalbaðseyri there was a very nice Minke whale and just before we left we encountered one more Humpback whale next to Svalbarðseyri.

During the afternoon tours we spotted 2 Humpback whales by Svalbarðseyri.

And in the evening tour, we found the 2 humpback whales in the same area. This time, they were just chilling, probably taking a nap. We were waiting for one of the humpbacks to surface when, suddenly, in the distance, we saw another humpy breaching and pectoral slapping. Sadly, we couldn’t get any closer, but it was so cool! Everybody was very excited!
