Hello everybody,

This morning, we started the day with very good weather conditions: sunny skies and a mirror-like sea, the perfect conditions for whale watching. Very soon after leaving the harbour, we spotted a minke whale, with which we spent a few minutes. After watching the minke for a while, we continued north, but only five minutes later, another minke whale popped up! Of course, we didn’t miss the chance to observe it for a while as well.

Farther north, near Strýtan, we encountered four different humpback whales. Two of them were taking a nap, while the others were surfacing very nicely close to us. Our passengers on the classic tour were also very lucky to witness the feeding behaviour of two humpback whales in the shallow waters of the Laufasgrunn area. As the fjord is still full of food, groups of kittiwakes were feeding alongside harbour porpoises everywhere.

In the afternoon, the wind picked up, making the sailing a bit more challenging, but once again we were able to spot three humpback whales north of Svalbarðseyri. They showed their flukes several times and even surfaced very close to us on a few occasions.
