Today the southern wind started picking up strongly which made choppy sea in the fjord. Despite the white caps at the surface, we found 4-6 different individuals of humpback whales today! They were feeding in deeper water just next to Hjalteryi, having an after-brunch nap and then moved next to shallow sand banks of Laufasgrunn. There were also cute harbour porpoises, which came next to our boat, a couple of times. After eating, one of the Humpback whales suddenly felt very energized and gifted us with a couple of breaches!
On the 13h tour, we found a spot with no wind and sun, and spend the tour just floating surrounded by 3 humpback whales and a pod of 6-8 harbour porpoises, who were curiously swimming around our boat. Beautiful tour! With the rib we went towards the east of the fjord, around the sallow waters of Laufasgrunn where we encounter a Humpback whale feeding.
