Sunny, glassy sea….Went with both Classic and RIB boat tours. Watching 2 humpback whales having a nap, one next to each other, north of Laufasgrunn. We saw a 3rd individual passing by, not far away, heading northeast. Few harbour porpoises also in the area.

In the afternoon, the wind picked up, but the weather was still good. We had to go north of the town of Hjalteyri to find up to three humpback whales, two of them side by side again and very relaxed. On the way there, we spotted several groups of harbour porpoises and a minke whale south of the green buoy. Regarding birds, we saw puffins, whooper swans, razorbills, black guillemots, northern fulmars, Arctic terns, kittiwakes, and Arctic skuas.

A perfect way to end another fantastic day of whale watching in North Iceland.
