We continue having excellent whale sightings in the fjord! With very nice sea conditions, we headed out today in search of whales. The fjord is so full of food that we were able to spot harbour porpoises all around us, followed by many fulmars, kittiwakes, and arctic terns trying to get a piece of the cake. Of course, the opportunistic Arctic skuas were also around, never missing a chance to chase after anyone who managed to catch some prey.
Both in the morning and in the afternoon, we saw three humpback whales in Arnarnesvík, lunge feeding, taking small naps at times, and rolling around. We enjoyed the experience a lot, just like our passengers did. And of course, we are looking forward to heading back out to sea tomorrow.
