Hold on tight! It’s windy in the fjord!

Due to today’s weather conditions, we’ve had to cancel our Express tours. Taking the RIB boats out in these conditions was certainly going to be an adventurous experience, perhaps a little too adventurous for some of our guests!

However, our larger boats are still heading out for our Classic tours.

And once again, the whale sightings were absolutely fantastic!

Today, we found three humpback whales very close to Akureyri, just west of the geothermal chimney known as Big strýtan. We spent most of our time with one particular humpback who repeatedly chose to surface incredibly close to our boat.

At times, the water was so clear that we could see almost its entire body beneath the surface as it swam alongside us, an unforgettable sight and a truly special experience for our adventurous passengers.

When we went in the afternoon, we realize that most of the whales started heading North, but at the end we still got very good sighting of humpback whales near Hauganes.

Another day, another incredible encounter in the fjord.
