Today, we had some cloud cover and a light northerly wind, but sea conditions were good for whale watching.
Both in the morning and afternoon, we headed east of Hrisey, where we came across a fantastic gathering of around seven Humpback whales. It seemed like they were feeding in the area. We observed some deep dives with tail flukes visible, and even witnessed some social behavior, like a tail throw, for example. It was an amazing experience and we really enjoyed our time with them.
To top it off, a Minke whale also made a brief appearance in the same area during the morning. We traveled quite far out, but it was absolutely worth it.
