What a way to start the day! The fjord greeted us this morning with sunshine and calm seas, perfect conditions for a day out on the water. Once again, the whales didn’t let us down. We spotted two Humpback whales near Hjalteyri, one taking a peaceful nap, and the other busy feeding, Also, one of our boats managed to see a Minke whale.

In the afternoon, the sunshine stuck around, giving us a true taste of summer. However, the wind picked up a bit, stirring the sea and bringing some waves with it. This time, we had to head a little further north, just south of Hrísey Island, where we found another Humpback whale feeding actively. And right behind it? A flock of opportunistic black-legged kittiwakes, making the most of the leftovers.

During the midnight tour, we saw two big humpback breaching from a distance, North of Svalbarðseyri. We got closer and enjoyed the show. The whales started launch feeding a few moment later. We turned off the engine of the boat and watched them with the beautiful sunset in the back.

Another unforgettable day in the fjord!
