Beautiful day in the fjord. We started with a cloudy morning yet a very flat sea. But the best part was we found straight away 2 Humpback whales both of the were S Hjalteyri for a while they were taking a nap but it was pretty incredible, since we could hear the whale’s breath, but since one of them was napping on the surface we were able to see the complete body below the surface. Further North next to Hauganes our boat Konsull was looking at 1 more Humpback feeding in that area. We have also seen bunch of Harbour porpoises three different times.
During the afternoon, the wind picked up, making for a slightly bumpier tour. Despite the rougher conditions, the express tour remained an enjoyable experience, complete with refreshing sea spray and the unforgettable sight of two Humpback whales gracefully lifting their tails amid the waves. Then, quite suddenly - SPLASH! One of the Humpbacks delivered a spectacular tail throw, a moment so quick and unexpected that even our fast-reacting cameraman, David, couldn’t capture it. Meanwhile, a third Humpback was spotted swimming just north of Hjalteyri.
