This Thursday started off with cloudy skies but no wind, leaving the sea calm and flat like a mirror, perfect conditions for whale watching.

In the morning, we spotted three Humpback whales just south of Hjalteyri, and in the same area, Northern bottlenose whales also made an appearance. It was an incredible experience with some truly amazing sightings. On our way, we were also lucky enough to see a few Harbour porpoises.

In the afternoon, we spotted a blow near the Green buoy and decided to go thereand have a look. At first, we thought it was a single Humpback whale, but then a second blow appeared, there were actually two Humpbacks together. Suddenly, both whales turned and began slapping the water with their pectoral fins. It was fascinating to observe their interaction. After a while, they separated, one remained near the Green buoy, while the other headed north toward Hjalteyri.
