Unfortunately, the weather was bad this morning, with strong winds, so we had to cancel the morning departures. But the wind calmed down quickly, and we were able to go with the classic and express tours! Both left at 14:00 toward the North and it only took a couple of minutes for our Captains to spot the first whale, by the harbor of Akureyri. A Minke whale was hanging around the exit of Glera river, probably looking for food.

We then headed toward the green bouey. We quickly found a group of Humpback whales, North West of Svalbarðseyri. There were many birds flying above the whales, and we are very happy to see that the arctic terns are back for the season. The wind from the South was very warm! We saw about 7-8 Humpback whales, a few harbor porpoises, and when checking Heitifoss at the end of the tour, we were surprised again by the Minke whale we saw when leaving the harbor.
