As if the whales knew this would be the last super sunny day, they all were all over the place. During the sunny morning we encountered 1st a lonely Humpback whale N Svalbarðseyri travelling towards the N. Showing us its majestic fluke. Eventually we kept our sail north as well, to look for different whales. We found 3 Humpback whales by Hjalteyri, an the three were feeding. Always an amazing sight to be seen, completely extended pouch.
During our afternoon tours the weather got partially cloudy and the wind started picking up but that didn’t stopped us from having an amazing tour. Our 1st sighting was a sneaky Minke whale around the green buoy area. But she didn’t really wanted to be with us so we kept heading north after a couple of surfaces. South Hjalteyri we found 3 Humpback whales, we stayed with the two that decided to swam south, when sudenly BAM… One of them breached. And afterwards it was a succession of tail throws, tail slaps and inverted tail slaps.
