We sailed out from a calm and sunny Akureyri into a very smooth, mirror-like fjord. As we slowly travelled in search of some lovely whales, we quickly started spotting some blows just behind Strýtan, on the eastern side of the fjord.

We were stopped by 2 Humpback whales surfacing everywhere around us. Feeding and surfacing quite close to us. They never swam too far from us. They were feeding from time to time, and we could enjoy the noise of their powerful breaths on the calm fjord. And towards the end of the tour, both of the whales decided to give us the best goodbye with a synchronised double fluking.
