The day began under a clear sky and a perfectly still fjord — the kind of calm that makes the world feel paused. Sailing north toward Rauðavík, we were greeted by three humpback whales and a sleek minke whale gliding through the mirror-like water.
By afternoon, snowflakes drifted from a pale sky as we headed south of Hauganes. The sea remained flat and quiet, and soon our familiar humpbacks appeared again, joined by a fourth companion. Watching their gentle movements against the snowy backdrop was a quiet reminder of nature’s grace — powerful, peaceful, and endlessly captivating.
