The cold is here to stay. At -3°C, a blanket of fog and steady snowfall turned the fjord into a quiet winter wonderland. The sea was mostly calm, with just a gentle swell rolling through the day.
In the morning, two minke whales appeared in Rauðavík, their dark backs gliding through the still water. A little farther north, in front of Hauganes, we spotted a humpback whale and a curious harbour seal.
By afternoon, the snow eased and the swell grew slightly. Returning to the same area, we found two humpback whales and another minke whale — a perfect reminder that even in the depths of winter, the fjord remains full of life.
