The weather was crisp but calm — a refreshing chill in the air, yet with much better visibility than yesterday and only a light breeze ruffling the sea’s surface.
On our first trip, we were lucky to spot a single humpback whale near Hauganes. It surfaced gracefully, giving everyone a beautiful view before slipping back beneath the waves.
The second tour was even more eventful. We encountered two minke whales actively surface feeding, lunging through the water again and again. It was amazing to see their bellies stretch and expand as they took in huge mouthfuls of prey — a rare and fascinating sight. This happened around the buoy.
And, as always, the fjord was alive with harbour porpoises darting playfully all around us.
