Another windy but sunny morning for the books! The fjord was pretty calm in all the usual spots so we had to head all the way to Grenivik to see some action. Once there we found Jackons and two other humpback whales enjoying to morning sun and feeding peacefully. The afternoon was a little more eventful with the presence of a pod of northern bottlenose whales. A very rare sighting in the water of the fjord! These cetaceans normally prefer more oceanic conditions and we found them rather close to the port of Akureyri, which even more surprising! We then headed north to try to find some other species of whale and stumbled across Jackson, again! Jackson is always ready to spend some time us. The whale was initially swimming fast southwards but slowed down to stay with us soon after we joined it. A lovely encounter as usual. So overall a windy and eventful day on the waters of Eyjafjordur! ....Happy trails....
