A beautiful day spent with a curious Minke whale and several pods of Harbour porpoises North of Hjalteyri as they came to greet us in the morning and at the early afternoon. In the late afternoon despite our best efforts we couldn’t locate the whales again, but we always remain hopeful for the upcoming days!

Today we spotted a minke whale, several groups of harbor porpoises, and four majestic humpback whales west of Hrísey. In the afternoon, we saw more porpoises and humpbacks, making it an incredible day for whale watching.

We saw some uncommon bird species like Northern Gannets and Atlantic Puffins. Sun throughout the whole day made this a nice time for everyone.

Today we encountered Harbour Porpoises in small groups throughout the area, Minke Whales near the boat, by the green buoy, and later near Strytan. We also had two amazing sightings of Humpback Whales—one west of Hrisey and another near Hrisey in the afternoon.

We spotted plenty of different bird species along the way as well as several pods of Harbor Porpoises and two Minke Whales just north of Akureyri!
Additionally, we spotted two Humpback Whales west of Hrísey and had a great day with amazing cetaceans in Eyjafjörður!

We spotted few groups of harbour porpoises and three minke whales today – the first two close to the green buoy, and later in the afternoon, a smaller juvenile west of Grenivík.

What a beautiful sunny day out on the water! The sea was calm like a lake, making it perfect for spotting wildlife. We saw plenty of seabirds, including long-tailed ducks, guillemots, and black-headed gulls. Then came our first cetaceans — a small group of harbour porpoises swimming peacefully near the boat.

As we continued north, we were lucky to spot a minke whale surfacing, taking a few breaths before diving gracefully. Later, another minke whale appeared, giving us great views. We also encountered more harbour porpoises along the way and yet another minke whale.

A day full of calm seas, sunshine, and amazing wildlife — we’re already excited for tomorrow!

On our tours, we encountered two Minke Whales today! One Minke Whale was spotted close to the green buoy, the other one by Strýtan.

On today´s tours we had a Minke Whale south of Strýtan and Harbor Porpoises north of Hjalteyri.

We gave it our best today as we always do, but unfortunately we couldn’t find any Cetations other than a few Harbour Porpoises.

Moody day with a moderate swell from the North. This rainbow on a horizon hopefully marking the better days that are ahead of us, this morning we have not found anything except of this rainbow and hundreds of migratory birds that have arrived just recently. We handed out complimentary tickets to all customers, so they can try their luck once again with us in Akureyri or Reykjavík.

Today’s tour was cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions in the fjord.

We braved the cold, snow, and fog in search of whales — gave it our best shot, but no luck today, just some awesome seabirds to keep us company.

We sailed to Hrísey and unfortunately did not spot any cetaceans during today’s tours. We did spot plenty of birds and had a fantastic view while sailing in today’s weather conditions, though!

Today, we spotted Harbor Porpoises as we sailed out and two different Minke Whales! On the morning tour, we were in for a surprise as we watched one Minke Whale lunge feeding close to us!

Today, we spotted a few pods of Harbour Porpoises by Gásir as well as one Minke Whale west of Hrísey!

We saw a great number of Harbour Porpoises and the first Minke Whale of the year.

We had some technical difficulties, so both tour got delayed. Read the blog to find out more.

We sailed to Hrólfssker and on the way, we encountered Harbor Porpoises and plenty of different bird species including Northern Fulmars, Long-tailed Ducks and Northern Gannets! Unfortunately, we did not spot any bigger cetaceans during today’s tours and offered everyone complimentary tickets to join us again!

Harbour porpoises are quite the shy type so we saw them a couple of times before they dived back under the sea. Rest of the cetaceans were enjoying their life somewhere in the depts, not wanting to give us a hello. That is why today all the passengers got complimentary tickets to join us again in the future, to see even more of our beautiful fjord and hopefully some other cetaceans.
