In the morning we had smooth sea and light rain, which created a very relaxed atmosphere in the fjord. We found 4-5 humpback whales south of and near Hjalteyri. We were lucky they were all feeding in deeper waters, so we were watching them fluking up one after the other - a magnificent sight!

The afternoon classic was treated to a REAL rarity a 3rd year Gannet (Morus bassanus) flying tight over the boat. As much as we enjoy the cetaceans its always a treat to sit back and enjoy the other species that make our fjord so beautiful such as Europe’s largest seabird.

Alongside this special visitor all boats were treated to lovely flukes from around 4 Humpback whales between Hjalteyri and the green bouy and the lucky RIB even spotted a breach !
