I’ve got a song stuck in my head. “Once in a Lifetime” by the Talking Heads. Specifically the part that says “same as it ever was”. We travelled just north of the green buoy in flat calm conditions in the morning. As rolling sea-fog chased us down, blanketing out the town of Hjalteyri, we took in beautiful views of White Fang/Viper now a truly local Humpback Whale. Further up north we found Disy showing her beautiful fluke same as it ever was.

In the afternoon the rolling fog had fortunately lifted allowing us to find another local Humpback Shadow feeding just the same as it ever was at the Hjalteyri fish factory. Homewards bound on the RIB we also re-met White Fang/Viper who came curiously close within 5 metres of the boat. Its beautiful to see the Whales still in eyjafjoerudur now time will tell if they head out on their yearly migration…same as it ever was.
