The morning greeted us with sunny skies, super-flat seas, and wonderfully warm temperatures a beautiful reminder of the last glimpses of summer. When we reached the area of Rauðavík, just beyond the little town of Hjalteyri, we spotted our first blow. Shortly after, a second blow appeared, and we knew we had at least two Humpback whales in the area. We were incredibly lucky to enjoy some close encounters and quickly recognised these two familiar whales as our beloved Disy and Shadow. Both whales seemed to stay in the same area throughout the day, and in the afternoon we were especially fortunate to have some unforgettable close encounters with our sweet and curious Disy.
