Iceland can trick you. Today in the office we were boiling hot in shorts, T shirts and it felt like a summers day. Outside was a different story. A cold southern wind caused chaos not only in town but also on the water. Only Holmasol and Konsull were big and brave enough to venture out today with our Ribs having to stay docked. On our first tour of the day, we unfortunately didn’t manage to find any whale, so our passengers got complimentary tickets, to try their luck any other tour within next 2 years. Boat of our 2nd tour of the day went all the way to Hrolfssker. They were lucky to see no less than three Humpbacks and even an elusive breaching Minke ! Wind was picking up, so we were lucky on our 3rd tour of the day, we were very very lucky to find a humpback whale in Hjalteyri, fluking a lot and showing us the tail! We recognized it and it was our beloved Umbrela! Tours after the 13:00 o’ clock one were sadly canceled because of strong winds.
