Today we departed with a very sunny sky and only a slightly windy and choppy fjord. On our time sailing north we saw a big flock of Whopper swans. But as we approached S Hjalteyri we found a very nice Minke whale who gave us a very nice tour. On tour at 13h, we had quite choppy sea along most of the fjord, but still sunny warm weather. The flock of birds feeding got our attention, and helped us to spot a minke whale, north of Hjalteyri. We were lucky to see minke surfacing up super close to our boat for 4 times. We continued all the way up north, close to end of the fjord. There we saw 1 breach of a humpback whale in far distance and close to us a sleepy humpback, resting at the surface. It turned out to be our well know humpback Disy. She maintained 6-minute dives and always staying at the surface for few slow breaths and showing its majestic fluke when going for a dive. On the way back, we saw few splashes of harbor porpoises.
On our 17:00 o’ clock tour it was quite windy but the sun was still shining! We sailed towards Hjalteyri and Hauganes, we spotted a few harbour porpoises along the way, also quite close to the boat. Unfortunately, we had no further sightings during the tour and all guests were provided with complimentary tickets, we hope to welcome everyone back on board soon!
