Today we sailed out in beautiful weather, with temperatures around 16°C – a perfect Icelandic summer day. The sea was calm, the sun was shining, and excitement was high as we headed out into Eyjafjörður.

On our morning classic tour we had not been sailing for very long when we spotted our first minke whale near Gáseyri. This individual gave us a wonderful encounter, allowing everyone on board to enjoy some great views before we continued further out.

On our way towards Hjalteyri, we encountered two more minke whales. One appeared noticeably smaller than the other, making us wonder if it could have been a mother with her calf. We spent some time enjoying these beautiful animals before continuing our journey.

As we approached Hjalteyri, we were treated to yet another sighting – three more minke whales in the area! It seemed like the whales were everywhere today, making for an unforgettable morning at sea.

Our morning rib ventured a little bit further north, where we found the most relaxed Humpback whale floating in the surface and enjoying the morning sun, E of Hrísey.

The afternoon tour was just as rewarding. Around Hjalteyri, we spotted three more minke whales. One individual was swimming and surfacing incredibly close to the boat, giving us an exceptional view of its sleek body and distinctive white patches. We could even smell the whale’s fishy breath as it surfaced nearby – a truly special experience that brought us closer to these amazing animals than ever before.

the afternoon rib tour took us al the way to the mouth of the fjord, NE Hrólfssker we fond a Humpback whale who was constantly feeding and showing us its magnificence.

It was a fantastic day filled with multiple whale encounters, beautiful weather, and unforgettable moments on the water. We can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
