A wonderful day at sea.

Today brought another unforgettable day on the fjord, full of incredible wildlife encounters and beautiful moments at sea.

During the morning tour, shortly after leaving the harbour, we were lucky enough to spot a very calm Minke whale surfacing and feeding close to the boat. We spent some time enjoying the encounter before continuing north.

Later in the morning by Laufásgrunn, we encounter 3 Humpback whales, with two of them actively feeding. Watching these giants working together in the rich waters of Eyjafjörður was espectacular.

During both, the afternoon and evening tours, we didn’t see any minke, but Harbour porpoises were once again everywhere. We also spotted three Humpback whales in the afternoon and up to four humpbacks during the evening tour. One of the evening stars was once again Proppy, first, with repeated tail slaps for quite a while before later starting to feed.

The fjord continues to be full of birdlife as well. Today we enjoyed sightings of puffins, many razorbills, black guillemots, and of course large groups of kittiwakes feeding together with the humpbacks. We also spotted long tailed ducks adding even more life to the scenary.

With so much activity all around us, the fjord truly feel alive at the moment. We hope tomorrow brings another fantastic day at sea!
