Whale hello everyone!
One more day starts with the sun up and a fairly flat fjord. Porpoises were porpoising as we sailed north from Akureyri. Our morning sightings were 1 Minke whale in the green buoy, 1 Minke whale and 1 Humpback whale in Hjalteyri, as well as 3 Humpback whales feeding in the area of Rauðavík.
In the afternoon, the wind picked up, and sailing north was a bit colder than in the morning. However, we soon forgot about the wind and enjoyed all the birds around us, such as puffins, razorbills, black guillemots, and black-legged kittiwakes, as well as our tiny porpoises. Once again, it was by Rauðavík where we spotted two Humpback whales, this time swimming around calmly.
Excited to be back in the fjord again tomorrow!
