What a windy day!
We checked the weather forecast and, sadly, we could only run the morning tour. Even so, we braved the waves and headed out in search of whales.
It was amazing to watch so many birds surfing the waves while we were looking for whales: Arctic terns, fulmars, Arctic skuas… so this tour is also a must for bird lovers. South west of the town of Hjalteyri, we found a humpback whale that spent most of the tour pectoral slapping, so despite the bad weather, everybody enjoyed it very much.
The humpback we saw was our friend Proppy. It is always very special to see old friends returning for the summer. We hope the weather improves tomorrow so we can head out again and discover what the fjord has in store for us.
