Hello everybody!
What a calm day in the fjord! We didn’t have any wind throughout the day, so even though it was cloudy, the sea conditions were perfect.
Once again, the whales were very easy to find. We didn’t have to go far, just north of the town of Svalbarðseyri.
During the morning tour, we spotted three humpback whales that were moving quite a lot from one place to another, keeping us on our toes and making us keep a close eye on the water to find them again. However, every now and then, they came close to our boat, and with the sea as smooth as a mirror, it was truly magical to watch them gracefully dive, raising their tails into the air.
In the afternoon, we spotted two humpback whales in the same area. This time, we barely had to move, as they were surfacing around us most of the time. at times, we were surprised by a whale popping up right next to our boat!
On days like today, we think about how lucky we are to go whale watching in Eyjafjörður.
